New version First perfumed concert
In italian, SENTIRE means “to listen”, as well as “to smell”. The choice of this particular verb perfectly illustrates the convergence between hearing and smelling, as Laurent Assoulen wished it for this new version of the Perfumed Concert. Composer and jazz pianist, perfume expert, Laurent Assoulen is a “slasher”, at the crossings of two sensitive. Since sounds and scents correspond, inducing intimate vibrations and physical sensations, Laurent Assoulen was inspired for each of these pieces by specific perfumery ingredients. He then shared his creation and inspiration with three major perfumers of International Flavors and Fragrances, Anne Flipo, Carlos Benaïm and Napoleão Bastos, who in turn interpreted and translated these sensations into scents. Several conversations took place between the musician and the perfumers to try to reach a sensorial balance.
Hearing and smelling intertwine, respond to each other. The solo piano accords resonate with the fragrance. Sound melts to scent. This intimacy of the senses, all transcended by the body, is Laurent Assoulen creative approach signature.

Laurent ASSOULEN (www.laurentassoulen.com), Pianist-composer, having worked during several years in the creation of Fragrances before devoting himself completely to the music, gathers in this album, his two fields of competence, his two passions. In collaboration with Guillaume Flavigny, perfumer of Givaudan company, passioned by music, creator of these 5 Perfumes, they composed these 5 weddings. A music=its perfume. And conversely…The incredible relationship between resonances of the raw materials and their sound echoes
